We have some big (and emotional) news to share…
After eight incredible years, Palm + Perkins will be closing at the end of next month.
Whew. This may feel sudden, but possibility of this decision has been on our minds for some time. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced rising costs, uncertain times, and lasting challenges from the pandemic. But beyond that— our personal lives have changed! Over the past few years, our priorities have shifted as we’ve grown our families (with another little one on the way this year!). As much as we’ve tried to do it all, we’ve come to realize that we simply can’t do it all, well, at the same time.
What a journey it has been! We started Palm + Perkins from our homes and online, driven by a love for beautifully crafted, artisan-made goods. Pop-ups quickly showed us that people loved experiencing these products in person, which led us to our little shop on Elmwood seven years ago. From there, we’ve had the privilege of traveling the world, meeting incredible makers, and learning firsthand about the craftsmanship behind every piece we carry. But what has meant the most is you—our community. From our amazing team and customers to our fellow merchants (and the many wonderful dog visitors!) - you have made this experience unforgettable.
Through the highs and lows - you showed up. Year after year, you reminded us why small businesses matter, and we are endlessly grateful for your support.
This decision has been incredibly difficult and bittersweet to make, but as we close this chapter, we’re choosing to celebrate an amazing eight years and embrace the adventures ahead. A part of our hearts will always be at 2950 College Ave.
But—we’re not done yet! We still have about six weeks to go, and we need your help! Starting today, our entire brick-and-mortar and online shop is on sale. There are so many beautiful goods still looking for a home, and we’d love for them to go home with you. We'll be sharing more information on discounts, closure details, and outstanding customer service in the coming days. Stay tuned!
