Convivial

Convivial began in 2014 as a one woman show, wheel-throwing out of Founder and Lead Designer Chentell Shannon's home garage. The company evolved in place, structure and process over years of company-built, boot-strapped growth and has now established their studio in the Historic West Bottoms of Kansas City, Missouri.
Convivial is a design and manufacturing company that labors over the creation of ceramic wares for the home, table, and garden categories. Their mission is to create handmade wares, designed in intention and form to spur on conviviality in customer’s lives, create handmade wares that were accessible in price, function and availability for gifting and everyday use, and to create hands-on, technical and craft jobs for creatives. Their processes began as wheel-thrown and now have transitioned to utilizing traditional slip casting methods. Each piece is brought from dust to life through a seven day process by their team of creatives that includes clay mixing, casting, carving, cleaning, glazing, and kiln firing.
